Reezy Nation is comprised of five individuals spread across the United States. Our friendships formed because of swimming and continue to grow stronger with each passing year. We each have our ‘favorite’ swimmers but agree that Ryan possess the free spirit and big hearted nature we wish more people had. We blog and follow swimming for the fun and patriotism of it all.

Day Six: 200 Back and 200IM

All of Ryan's hard work and training during the last four years lead up to one of the hardest doubles known in swimming left him with some pretty impressive hardware to come home with tonight (and two more medals added to the count for Team USA.)

First up, was the 200 Back where Ryan hoped to defend his previous title. As the race begun Ryan swam strong holding the lead until the last wall. In the last 50 meters, Tyler Clary and Ryosuke Irie began gaining on Ryan ultimately running him down.

At the finish it was Clary with Gold, 1:53.41, Irie with Silver, 1:53.78 and Ryan finishing Bronze with a time of 1:53.94.

With less than 30 minutes to warm down Ryan was back on the blocks, this time in the 200IM. Michael Phelps started strong taking an early lead in the first 100 meters which is quite the change to what we've seen lately. Especially in the semi swims and even prelim swims at Trials in Omaha where Ryan has been known to take the lead and then dominate starting with the breast stroke.

Michael finished first with a time of 1:54.27, Ryan second with 1:54.90 and Cseh third with a time of 1:56.22.

We would also like to mention that with the conclusion of these games Ryan has tied Mark Spitz and Matt Biondi as the second most decorated male athletes with 11 medals to their name.
